My name is Nic Skerten,
I have been photographing headshots and portfolios for actors, corporate clients, entertainers, performers and models for over 10 years. Over that time I have shot many, many people from varied walks of life who want natural, relaxed images that they can use to represent themselves to the wider world - be that on their personal websites, Spotlight, acting and modelling agencies, LinkedIn, corporate websites or social media.
I love photographing people and creating natural, relaxed images of them that capture their personality..
Why Good Headshots Matter
Your headshot is quite simply your principal, personal branding tool and my approach to achieving successful headshots is to capture natural expressions that portray your personality, humour and confidence.
If you are an actor your headshot is often the first thing casting directors or agents will see. That headshot is, therefore, going to have a major impact on your success at getting cast or recommended for a role - it needs to make a strong and lasting impression. Casting agents assess large numbers of images - my objective is to ensure that your headshots stand out from the rest.
Similarly, the huge increase in the importance of social media in the corporate and business world, has meant that a strong business portrait is now an essential element of your corporate profile and the promotion of your business.
Whenever possible, I always photograph headshots by natural light as I believe this is the optimum way to achieve a more realistic and natural result - a true representation of you at your best.

Where I Shoot Headshots
I shoot my headshots using natural light in my garden studio in East Tuddenham in Norfolk.
Why natural light? This is because I feel it gives the most honest, natural and relaxed images.
About the Photoshoot Session
When you arrive, we will have a chat to break the ice and to allow me to get to know a bit about you and what you want to get out of your session. We'll also go through the items you have brought to wear and discuss which ones will work best.
I pride myself on my relaxed but professional approach to my photo shoots. The shoot won't be a silent affair, as I will talk to you throughout the session (I can 'talk the hind legs off a donkey') - prompting you on posing, getting your feedback, just generally getting to know you and relax you.
Throughout the session I will show you the images we take and we will work together to capture a perfect set of headshots that you will be proud to show to the world!

A Bit More About Me
Alongside my headshots photography I also shoot book cover stock images and I am represented by the two leading, niche book cover image agencies Trevillion Images and Arcangel Images. Since starting in 2006 my images have been used on book covers, CD covers and magazines in countries all across the world.
